RCIA
The RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) invites adults to explore the Catholic faith. Bases on a universal process offered in almost every parish, the RCIA program is offered to adults who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church. The weekly sessions include time for teaching the basics of Catholicism. We cover topics such as:
- The mass
- Catholic approaches to the Bible
- The seven sacraments (baptism, eucharist, confirmation, reconciliation, anointing of the sick, marriage, and holy orders)
- The liturgical seasons (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Ordinary Time)
- Saints
- Role of Mary
Besides learning about the Catholic faith, persons engage in prayer, scripture reflection, and faith sharing. The process is tailored to the needs of each individual and the group.
During the 2005-2006 year, the RCIA meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm in the Meeting Room. Beginning in January, another group will begin meeting on Sunday mornings.
