Lewelling Boulevard Widening Project

The County of Alameda proposes to widen and improve Lewelling Boulevard between Hesperian Boulevard and Meekland Avenue in San Lorenzo.

Specifically, utility lines and posts will be placed underground. New curbs, gutters and sidewalks will be constructed along with installation of new landscaping and streetscape improvements. This project is part of the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Agency’s (ACTIA) sponsored Measure “B” local tax measure transportation project in unincorporated Alameda County.

A portion of St. John Parish property will be acquired by the County of Alameda to accommodate the construction of the street improvements. The Parish will be compensated by the County of Alameda for the acquisition of property and temporary construction easements.

Estimated Schedules (unofficial)

Beginning Summer 2008 - Undergrounding of Utilities

The undergrounding of utilities will involve removing the current fence and trees along Lewelling Blvd. and Ashland Ave. A temporary fence will be installed approximately 20 feet behind where the current fence is located.

This will eliminate the parking spots that were adjacent to the old fence. Traffic flow may be effected. Click on the link below to see how parking and traffic flow might be effected after the temporary fencing is installed.
